Giving Is Still In Style...Corrine and Matt

Hello, dear blog readers! I know that it's been a while since my last post but I've been pretty busy with the holidays and then playing catchup at work after being gone over my Christmas vacation. I'm excited to get back into photo-sharing though and can't wait to finish some of the fun side projects I've been working on!

Before I get to that though, I have something special I really want to share with you...

I have known Corrine and Matt for a while now. Corrine (pictured above) has been a willing - and fantastic! - model for me in addition to being a great friend. Their story is a special one though...

Corrine recently underwent radiation therapy to treat an inoperable mass in her brain that was believed to be cancerous. This has been a difficult time for both her and her husband Matt, but thankfully they have had a lot of family and friends to surround them during her treatment. Since then, she has finished this round of treatment (and we're hoping that's it) and is now getting back to life.

The next shock came for them when they received their medical bills. Radiation therapy is not cheap and they have felt the weight of these bills.

Two weeks ago my roommate came to me and we started brainstorming how we could help. We didn't feel it was okay to just feel sorry for Corrine & Matt and not do something. After some discussion, my dear roommate set up a fundraiser to pay for all of their current bills.

Since it's gone live (just 2 weeks ago) we are already past the half way mark! It is such an exciting thing to see friends and family members and even people who've never met Corrine & Matt giving of their finances to help them.

I have been able to take part in spreading the word and I'd like to ask that you'd consider giving to the cause even if that's just $10. Maybe you don't get coffee this week and give money to the Matt and Corrine instead :)

Either way, be sure to check out the website and feel free to share the link on Facebook or other social media - any help to spread the word is great! We just want the burden of medical debt to be lifted from this young couple!
